Welcome to TONEXCELLENCE - the place to find great guitar tone for the ToneX.

Here you will find some truly expressive and inspirational presets for the IK Multimedia ToneX software app, plugin and pedal. If you are not yet familiar with this modern miracle of function, cost, convenience and quality, please do yourself a favor and spend some time on YouTube researching the software and pedal.

There are several preset packs available, covering amps, pedals and preamps. In the future we plan to expand our selection; so please check back from time to time to see what’s new.

All captures were made using the ToneX “advanced” training mode for best accuracy. Amp captures utilized the Two-Notes Torpedo Captor X, the Radial JCR Re-Amp box and Focal monitors to fine-tune each preset. Once the amp etc. models were captured, presets were built with these criteria in mind:

– levels optimized to balance with other presets as well as final amplification, per the ToneX pedal.

– eq optimized for both tonal balance and expressiveness.

– gain optimized for expressiveness and clarity where appropriate.

– unless ideal speaker configurations were present for capture, amps were captured without cabs to offer the most flexibility in building new presets; as well as flexibility for live and recorded sound.

– presets were constructed to not only balance levels, gain and eq; many also have compression, noise gate and (a little) reverb adjusted for optimal performance. Of course, any preset can be freely edited, duplicated and saved with any combination of changed parameters.

Please note: In order to install these presets, you must already have a PAID and installed version of the Mac OS or PC/Windows IK Multimedia ToneX software. These presets cannot be installed on a mobile, tablet or trial version of the ToneX software.
